The product I am speaking of is the ShowTop windshield sun shade sold by ShowTop Global on Amazon. This shade is the neatest thing. It is very compact and when folded fits in its own little bag. The bag is practically flat and can be stored just about anywhere in your car. Under the seat, in the back of the seat, in the door, in the trunk, in the glove box, etc.
When expanded fully it measures 59 x 27.6 inches and covers the entire front windshield. When expanded it keeps the sun from bearing down on your dash to prevent fading and cracking. It also keeps the interior of your car cooler and offers shade by blocking the heat and light of the sun, keeping it from penetrating the windshield and therefore into your car. All you do is pull the shade out of its neat little storage bag, release the elastic secure strap and it automatically opens, then unfold and place in your window. Use your car sun visors to hold the shade in place and tuck corners to secure.
I've used this a couple times myself for shade. A couple times on hot days that wasn't cool or raining. (not many of them in Kentucky). So far I do like this product, kept me cool when I was sitting in the car and let me nap as well because it blocked the sun. Also, on the couple hot days we have had, well it made the car cooler and the heat didn't take my breath when I opened the door. I like the fact as well that it is so compact and takes only minimal room to store. So it is doing exactly what it was made to do. Can't ask for more than that.
After you take the shade down, just fold and twist, then keep turning the outer edges until it is the size of its bag. Wrap the elastic secure strap around the folded shade to secure and place back into its storage bag. The shade is black on the inside and silver on the other side.
